A memory MeMe stolen from Susan, who stole from Manda.....

This is something a little different. Almost reminds me of the SLAM books we used to have in junior high.....only I hope you leave nice memories about me. :-)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

5 high-fives:

SLAM BOOK: Yeah, as if this is gonna be an easy answer.

Okay, first thing in my mind ... around Christmas 1998. As always seems to be the case, I was sick. Well, Tiger was sick as well, and he was at my house for a couple of days. You were there, and doled out TLC in a way I'd never known (ex-wife was a born performer when sick, but wouldn't hesitate to say "take a damned pill and shut up!" when either of us got under the weather, but anyway)

I walked out of the bedroom and into the living room and saw both of you watching a movie. Tiger (then age 7) was curled up on the couch with his head on your lap. You had your arm around him.

And that was the spark which led me to think beyond the short term. That moment was when I realized "Maybe another marriage someday isn't such a bad idea."

The second time, I picked the winner.

I love you.

My fave Seraphim memory is probably the Girl Scout House. I was so excited to be there and so excited that you were into it too--you didn't make me feel like the nerd I am. hehehehe It felt kinda sisterly... In a good way, wink wink nudge nudge...

And the chocolate shop too, looking at the little dogs and critters on the candies. You make me want to be a great cake decorator instead of merely OK.

From 10 years of fun, I gotta come up with ONE memory???? Good Lord. Okay, okay......

To echo K/S's thought on Tal's blog, the VERY first time I met Tal & Sera in person, I was getting over a horrific sinus infection. I had taken the last one of my antibiotics and was feeling good. We met at the Varsity, where we spent at least a good two hours or more just chit-chatting ... almost like we'd all known each other all our lives. From there, we proceeded to Underground where.... I suddenly got dizzy as all get out, and leaned facefirst into a trash can, and suddenly that good lunch was there.

The fact that they've been my friends through ALLLLLLL that (and there have been a few other "pull over! pull over!" moments), well, they're good people.

Individually? The last time I was there, and Sera was out in the garage making calla lilies out of fondant. I am totally useless when it comes to baking. My expertise ends at "pour contents of package into mixing bowl, add eggs, oil & water, stir....." I was watching a master at work, and was in total awe. We talked about quite a few things, but I remain totally impressed by those lilies!

This is hard being as I have never met you in person!

My favorite memory of you is the same I had for Tal - it has been inspiring to read your comments on s/k's blog and see how much you care for her and how supportive you are of her!

It's not so much a memory but my favorite thing about you is that you always read my blog and comment on it. I know, it's not very deep and thought provoking, hopefully soon, very soon, we will meet in person and I can gather some great memories of you for myself and not sit on the sidelines!

Melissa, I can promise that when you get to meet Seraphim & Tal, it will be more like a homecoming ..... like you've always been a part of their lives. That's the best feeling ever.
